UPDATE (April 21, 2025, 8:45 a.m.): On the afternoon of Saturday, April 19, members of the Knoxville Police Department’s Community Engagement Response Team located and arrested 36-year-old Michael Thompson, of Knoxville.
Thompson was wanted on a grand jury indictment charging him with attempted second-degree murder and carjacking among other charges from a shooting that happened in the parking lot of BucketHead Tavern in October 2024. A 61-year-old Florida man was injured in the shooting.
Thompson was taken into custody following a traffic stop on Briar Rock Lane at around 4:50 p.m. on Saturday.
Two other individuals were previously arrested and charged for their involvement in that incident in late 2024. Tre’Veon Bradley, 25, and Jaden Moore, 24, were both charged with carjacking and especially aggravated robbery. Bradley was arrested last November, while Moore was arrested in December 2024.

Knoxville Police Department detectives are investigating a shooting and robbery that happened late Wednesday night at a West Knoxville bar.
At around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, KPD officers responded to the BucketHead Tavern on Ray Mears Boulevard.
Officers arrived on scene, where man had been shot multiple times in the parking lot. The victim, a 61-year-old man from Florida, was transported to the UT Medical Center for treatment for injuries that are not expected to be life-threatening.
Detectives learned that the victim exited the bar and was confronted at gunpoint by at least two currently unidentified suspects. The victim was shot, and the suspects left the scene in the victim’s car, a red Cadillac XT6.
The victim’s vehicle was found abandoned this morning on Atlantic Avenue. Efforts remain ongoing to identify the suspects.
