The Knoxville Police Department’s Organized Crime Unit is tasked with conducting investigations into criminal activity involving organized groups of individuals who cause harm to our community by engaging in activities such as drug trafficking, gambling, prostitution, and other criminal endeavors.

With our partners in various local, state, and federal agencies, the Organized Crime Unit targets criminals within our City, as well as around the region, who negatively impact our quality of life in the City of Knoxville.

The Organized Crime Unit utilizes a variety of investigative techniques designed to detect criminal activity and prosecute offenders.

The Organized Crime Unit includes detectives who are assigned to the Drug Related Death Task Force, a multi-agency collaboration that proactively analyzes and investigates suspected overdose deaths. The Task Force brings together multiple law enforcement entities to identify trends, locate hotspots and eliminate supply sources in an effort to prevent overdose deaths.
