Pedestrian Passes Away Following Hit-and-Run Crash on Walker Boulevard

The Knoxville Police Department is investigating a now-fatal hit-and-run crash after a woman who was struck by a vehicle last week on Walker Boulevard passed away.

At around 7:30 p.m. on Monday, February 3, 2025, KPD officers responded to Walker Boulevard near Northgate Terrace, where a 75-year-old woman had been struck by a vehicle that was no longer on scene. The victim was transported to the UT Medical Center with critical injuries.

Due the severity of the victim’s injuries, KPD fatal crash reconstruction investigators responded to the scene of the crash. Investigators were advised that the victim died as a result of her injuries on Saturday, February 8.

The investigation into the crash revealed that the victim was crossing Walker Boulevard in the crosswalk in front of Northgate Terrace when an unidentified vehicle struck her and drove away from the scene north on Walker Boulevard.

Efforts remain ongoing to identify the involved vehicle and driver. The suspect vehicle was described as a silver or white SUV with a black top. The vehicle was possibly a Jeep or Hummer, according to witness statements.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing at this time.
