Davante Gamble Charged with Attempted Murder Following Shooting Investigation

32-year-old Davante Gamble has been charged with multiple counts of attempted murder following an investigation into a shooting that occurred in northwest Knoxville on Friday night.

At around 10:15 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025, KPD officers were dispatched to a home on Thomas Street, where they met with the victim. The victim, a 32-year-old woman, reported that she was at another address when she received a notification via her RING camera that two masked individuals were attempting to break into her home on Thomas Street. The victim and two other individuals then drove to the home.

Once in the area of Dakota Avenue and O’Neal Street, the victim reportedly encountered a vehicle suspected of being involved in the burglary. The passenger of that vehicle then allegedly fired multiple rounds at the victim’s vehicle, striking it at least once. Nobody was struck or injured in the shooting. The suspect vehicle then fled from the scene.

Through continued investigation led by the KPD Homicide Unit and assisted by Field Operations and Community Engagement Response Team officers, Gamble was identified as the suspect in the shooting.

Officers spoke with Gamble soon after and he voluntarily agreed to speak with KPD detectives. After questioning, Gamble was taken into custody for three counts of attempted first-degree murder, one count of aggravated burglary and one count of employing a firearm with the intent to go armed.

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing at this time.
