David Prins, 59, Arrested, Multiple Firearms Seized Following Search Warrant at Gillespie Avenue Home

Multiple firearms as well as suspected meth and heroin were seized following a search warrant that was conducted at a Gillespie Avenue home last Thursday, April 24.

The search warrant was obtained as part of an investigation into David Prins, DOB 2/28/66, for the sale of meth, heroin and fentanyl. The investigation is being led by the Knoxville Police Department’s Organized Crime Unit.

Prins left the home prior to the execution of the search warrant but was stopped and detained by officers.

A search of Prins’ Gillespie Avenue home resulted in the discovery and seizure of approximately 21 grams of suspected meth, over three grams of suspected heroin and fentanyl, two handguns and three rifles.

Officers also recovered numerous pieces of suspected stolen property at the home, including a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a trailer.

Prins was arrested and charged with convicted felon in possession of a weapon, possessing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, manufacture, delivery and sale of meth and theft of property.
