32-year-old Chad Brooks, a West High School teacher and coach, was taken into custody on Friday afternoon in Morristown, Tennessee by the Morristown Police Department.
In early April, the Knoxville Police Department’s Special Crimes Unit was made aware of allegations that Brooks had allegedly engaged in inappropriate behavior with past and current students.
Following further investigation, Brooks was indicted by a Knox County Grand Jury for multiple counts of aggravated statutory rape and statutory rape by an authority figure.
Brooks was booked into the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility on Saturday afternoon.
Anyone impacted by this case or who is aware of possible incidents of child abuse or statutory rape is urged to report that in one of two ways. Reports can be submitted directly to the Department of Children’s Services here. Reports can also be made by contacting the KPD’s Special Crimes Unit at 865-215-6810 or by visiting the Knoxville Family Justice Center.
