29-year-old Hayden Currie, of Knoxville, was taken into custody following an investigation into a series of shots fired incidents that happened on Paris Road.
On three separate occasions over the past several weeks, a resident in the 2200 block of Paris Road reported that an unknown individual had shot a vehicle parked in their driveway during the overnight hours. Those incidents were reported on April 14, April 22 and May 5. No injuries were reported in any of those shootings.
Further investigation into those shots fired incidents revealed that the suspect was driving a dark-colored Toyota Tacoma. On Thursday night, Community Engagement Response Team officers were able to locate and stop the truck. The driver, identified as Currie, was subsequently detained for questioning by Violent Crimes Unit detectives.
After questioning, Currie was charged with five counts of aggravated assault, three counts of reckless endangerment and three counts of felony vandalism.
A gun was also found inside of Currie’s vehicle.
