Douglas Peek, 48, arrested following Special Crimes investigation, grand jury indictment

Members of the Knoxville Police Department’s Community Engagement Response Team took Douglas Peek, 48 of Knoxville, into custody at his Cherokee Boulevard home on Monday evening following a multi-count grand jury indictment.

Peek was arrested following a months-long investigation led by KPD Special Crimes Unit detectives. That investigation began following allegations referred through the Department of Children’s Services that Peek had inappropriately touched numerous members of youth sports teams he coached.

The investigation culminated with a grand jury presentment, which resulted in indictments for two counts of aggravated sexual battery and three counts of invasion of privacy involving a victim under 13.

The investigation being led by Special Crimes detectives is continuing.
