To ensure transparency and the safety of the Knoxville community, the Knoxville Police Department has a detective dedicated to overseeing the compliance of all registered sex offenders who reside in the City of Knoxville.
The Sex Offender Registry Detail also conducts sex offender compliance checks on a regular basis throughout the year.
Registered sex offenders from other jurisdictions or states are required by law to report to KPD during business hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday within 48 hours of arriving in Knoxville. Appointments can be made by calling or emailing the Sex Offender Registry Detective.

OffenderWatch is the nation’s leading sex offender registration solution, with over 15,000 unique users in 33 states. More than 3,500 local and state law enforcement agencies are utilizing the software to keep track of registered offenders across jurisdictions, collaborate on interagency operations, and automatically notify the community through the Knoxville Police Department website and email alerts.
