KPD investigating shooting at James Avenue home

The Knoxville Police Department is pursuing active leads into a shooting that wounded two at a James Avenue home on Monday evening.

At just after 6 p.m. on Monday, May 11, KPD officers responded to a home in the 1000 block of James Avenue to investigate a shooting.

Officers arrived on scene and located a man who had sustained at least one gunshot wound to the arm. The victim was transported to the UT Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Shortly after officers arrived on the scene of the shooting, they were notified that a second gunshot victim was dropped off by a personal vehicle at the Fort Sanders Medical Center. The male victim is believed to be connected to the scene on James Avenue and was transported to UTMC with suspected non-life-threatening injuries.

A suspect has not been arrested or charged at this time, and detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Detectives are pursuing active leads.
