The Knoxville Police Department is investigating a suspected domestic-related shooting that happened late Sunday night at a Fine Avenue home.

At around 11 pm on Sunday, July 19, KPD officers responded to a shooting with a victim at a home in the 2100 block of Fine Avenue. Officers arrived on scene and found a man who had been shot at least one time. The gunshot victim was transported to the UT Medical Center with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.

The investigation determined that the gunshot victim and a woman who was detained at the scene had been involved in a prolonged domestic altercation when the woman shot the victim.

The woman was questioned by KPD Violent Crime detectives. No charges have been filed at this time and the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under active investigation.
