Report Suspicious Activity / Non-Emergency Phone Line

Suspicious activity that might be indicative of ongoing criminal activity can be reported via the Knoxville Police Department’s non-emergency line at 865-215-4010. Additionally, suspicious activity can be reported anonymously through East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers at 865-215-7165 or www.easttnvalleycrimestoppers.org.

When to Call the Non-Emergency Line Instead of 9-1-1

• Reporting non-violent crime with no suspect (Examples: theft of property or vehicle burglary)
• Reporting non-violent crime with suspect, but the suspect is not on scene (Examples: fraud or vandalism)
• Panhandling
• Non-emergency or non-urgent matter in progress (Example: suspicious person)
• Ongoing issues or crimes that are not in progress (Examples: graffiti, ongoing drug dealing with suspect not on scene, speeding drivers)
• Non-emergency order maintenance or quality of life issue (Example: noise complaint)
• Property damage crash this is not blocking roadway
• Suspicious circumstances that could indicate criminal activity (Example: suspected drug house)
