At around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, Knoxville Police Department officers were conducting a follow-up investigation to a theft reported earlier in the day. The victim told officers her belongings were stolen after she allowed two individuals to stay in her home.
Officers identified the suspects as Tina Omary, 39, and Jesse Rocha, 39. Both had outstanding warrants and were believed to be staying in a camp just south of Woodland Avenue.
When officers arrived at the camp, they heard a commotion and saw Rocha climb a nearby chain-link fence and run across Woodland Avenue. After a brief foot pursuit, Rocha was caught and taken into custody.
Upon returning to the encampment, officers located Omary. She initially gave a false name, but after confirming her identity, she was taken into custody without incident.
Officers searched the tent where Omary and Rocha were believed to be staying and found several narcotics that appeared to be packaged for resale, including three individually packaged baggies of suspected crack cocaine, 0.8 grams of suspected heroin, 4.3 grams of suspected marijuana, and 1.2 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
Officers also recovered a loaded handgun in the tent.
Rocha was charged with several drug offenses, possession of a firearm in commission of a dangerous felony and convicted felon in possession of a handgun. Rocha also had a VOP for charges that include tampering with evidence and possession of methamphetamine.
Omary was charged with criminal impersonation. She also had a VOP for a prior drug charge.
