A man died after he was struck by a truck in the parking lot of the McDonald’s on Millertown Pike.

At around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 27, 2025, Knoxville Police Department officers responded to reports of a truck striking a pedestrian in the parking lot of the McDonald’s on Millertown Pike. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the driver, who said he was maneuvering through the restaurant’s parking lot and attempting to avoid another vehicle in a tight space when he struck the man. He stopped immediately. Multiple witnesses confirmed his statement.

The pedestrian, identified as 78-year-old Ronnie Day, was transported to UT Medical Center, where he later died of his injuries.

The crash investigation remains ongoing. No charges have been filed at this time.
