Three individuals have been arrested and charged with murder following a lengthy Drug Related Death Task Force investigation into a 2024 overdose death.
Anne Miller DOB 2/16/75, Brandon Light DOB 7/10/92 and Amber Perry DOB 7/9/85 were each indicted for second-degree murder and sale and delivery of fentanyl.
The indictments were the result of an investigation led by the Knoxville Police Department Organized Crime Unit and the Drug Related Death Task Force into the overdose death of 27-year-old Devin Kilgore. Kilgore was found dead in a residence on Woodcrest Drive in February 2024. The cause of death was determined to be acute fentanyl intoxication.
The investigation ultimately revealed that Miller, Light and Perry supplied the fentanyl that resulted in Kilgore’s death.
In late October, Miller, Light and Perry were indicted by a Knox County grand jury for second-degree murder and sale and delivery of fentanyl. Perry was located and arrested by KPD officers on November 2 at a motel on Merchant Center Boulevard, while Light and Miller were located and arrested by Knox County Sheriff’s Office deputies on November 12.
About the Drug Related Death Task Force
The Drug Related Death Task Force is an inter-agency investigation and prosecution team who examines overdoses that occur in Knox County as a means to combat the opiate epidemic. Founded under the direction of the Appalachia High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (AHIDTA), the task force consists of the Knox County District Attorney General’s Office, Knoxville Police Department, Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Administration and Knox County Regional Forensic Center. The goal of the task force is to decrease overdoses by holding drug dealers accountable when their drug trafficking leads to overdose deaths. The task force also gains intelligence about the opiate epidemic that can be used by member agencies and others across the country to fight this increasing problem.
