The Knoxville Police Department is investigating a single-vehicle fatality that occurred overnight in the area of I-275 North and I-640 East.

At around 12:56 a.m., KPD officers were dispatched to a crash involving a Chevrolet truck on the ramp from I-275 North to I-640 East. Officers arrived on scene, finding the involved truck crashed into the right shoulder wall. The driver, an adult man, was found unresponsive inside the truck. There were no other occupants inside the vehicle.

First responders provided CPR on scene and transported the victim to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

KPD crash reconstruction personnel responded to the scene and are leading the investigation. The factors that led to the crash are unconfirmed at this time and remain under active investigation.
