Lerisha Williams, 45, and Quinshayla Williams, 22, were arrested following an early-morning shooting Saturday on East Hill Avenue that killed one woman and injured another woman and a man. 

At approximately 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, Knoxville Police Department officers responded to a reported shooting at 411 East Hill Avenue.  

Two women and one man were struck by gunfire. One woman was transported to Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, where she died. The surviving woman and man suffered injuries that appear to be non-life-threatening. They were treated and released from UT Medical Center. 

The preliminary investigation identified Lerisha Williams as a suspect in the shooting that killed the woman. Officers located and arrested her a short time later. She was charged with one count of reckless homicide and additional weapons charges. 

The preliminary investigation also identified Quinshayla Williams as the person who shot the surviving woman and man. She was charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and additional weapons charges. 

The identity of the woman who died is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.
