The Knoxville Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that happened on the entrance ramp to I-40 East from Hall of Fame Drive early Friday morning.

At around 6:30 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025, KPD officers responded to the aforementioned location, where a vehicle was found crashed into a tractor trailer that was parked on the shoulder of the entrance ramp. The female driver and only occupant in the vehicle died at the scene. No other injuries were reported in the crash. 

KPD crash reconstruction investigators responded to the scene and are leading the investigation into the crash. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending positive identification and next of kin notification.
